Schlage Encode Wireless Power Retrofit Kit

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your purchase and use of the Schlage Encode wireless power retrofit kit (the “Kit”) offered by Wi-Charge Ltd. (“Wi-Charge,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By placing an order or pre-order, installing, or using the Kit, you (“you” or “Customer”) agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not purchase, install, or use the Kit.
1. Product Description & Compatibility
1.1 Product.
The Kit is a hardware retrofit solution designed to provide wireless power to compatible Schlage Encode smart locks (each, a “Lock”) using infrared power transmission from a Wi-Charge transmitter (the “Transmitter”).
1.2 Compatibility.
The Kit is only intended for use with the following lock models (collectively, the “Compatible Locks”):

Use of the Kit with any lock, door hardware, or device other than the Compatible Locks is not supported and is at your own risk.
1.3 No Affiliation with Schlage.
The Kit is an independent third-party product. Wi-Charge is not owned, operated, endorsed, or certified by Schlage, Allegion, or any of their affiliates. Any references to “Schlage,” “Schlage Encode,” or related marks are for identification and compatibility purposes only.
1.4 Intended Use.
The Kit is intended for use on interior doors in residential or light commercial environments where power can be safely supplied to the Transmitter and where the infrared beam path can be maintained as described in our installation instructions.
2. Eligibility & Customer Responsibilities
2.1 Eligibility.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to purchase and use the Kit.
2.2 Your Responsibilities.
You are responsible for:
Confirming that your Lock is one of the Compatible Locks.
Ensuring that installation and use of the Kit complies with all applicable laws, building codes, fire and safety regulations, HOA rules, lease terms, and insurance requirements.
Ensuring you have a suitable and safe power source for the Transmitter.
Maintaining your Lock’s firmware, Wi-Fi, and security settings as recommended by Schlage.
2.3 Non-Critical Use.
The Kit is not designed or certified for critical life-safety applications. You agree not to use the Kit on doors where lock failure could reasonably result in serious personal injury, such as designated fire exits or emergency egress doors required by applicable code to remain unlocked or mechanically operable.
3. Orders, Pre-Orders, Pricing & Payment
3.1 Orders.
By placing an order through our website or other authorized channels, you offer to purchase the Kit under these Terms. We may accept or reject any order at our discretion, including due to product availability, suspected fraud, or errors in pricing or product information.
3.2 Pre-Orders.
From time to time, the Kit may be offered on a pre-order basis.
Pre-Order Charge. You authorize us to charge your payment method for the full pre-order price (plus applicable taxes and shipping) at the time you place the pre-order.
Estimated Shipping Date. Any shipping dates we provide are estimates only and may change. We do not guarantee that the Kit will ship on a particular date.
Cancellation by You. You may cancel your pre-order and request a full refund at any time before we send you a shipping confirmation email.
Cancellation by Us. We may cancel your pre-order and issue a full refund if we discontinue the Kit, are unable to fulfill your pre-order, or for other reasonable business reasons.
3.3 Pricing.
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars and do not include sales tax, duties, or shipping charges, which will be calculated and shown at checkout. We may change prices at any time, but such changes will not affect orders we have already accepted.
3.4 Payment.
You authorize Wi-Charge or our third-party payment processor to charge your selected payment method for the total amount of your order, including any taxes and shipping fees. If your payment fails, we may cancel your order.
4. Shipping, Risk of Loss & Title
4.1 Shipping.
We ship the Kit to the shipping address you provide at checkout. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping information.
4.2 Risk of Loss and Title.
Risk of loss and title to the Kit pass to you when the Kit is delivered to the carrier.
4.3 Delays.
We are not liable for delays in shipping caused by events outside our reasonable control, including carrier delays, customs processing, supply chain disruptions, strikes, or force majeure events.
5. Installation, Safety & Modifications
5.1 Installation.
The Kit must be installed strictly according to the installation instructions and safety guidelines provided with the Kit and/or published on our website.
We strongly recommend installation by a qualified locksmith, security integrator, or other competent professional.
Improper installation may result in product failure, reduced performance, or damage to your Lock, door, power system, or premises.
5.2 Electrical & Mounting Requirements.
You are responsible for:
Ensuring you have a suitable, code-compliant power outlet or electrical connection for the Transmitter.
Ensuring the Transmitter can be securely mounted per the specified distance, line-of-sight, and clearance requirements.
Verifying that the infrared power path is not blocked and does not create hazards (e.g., tripping, heat buildup, or interference with other devices).
5.3 Modifications to the Lock.
Installation of the Kit may involve altering the Lock’s original power source (e.g., replacing or bypassing batteries).
Any modifications to the Lock or door are done at your own risk.
Such modifications may affect your Lock’s warranty, certification, or insurance coverage. You are responsible for checking with Schlage, your insurance provider, landlord, or relevant authority if needed.
5.4 Maintenance and Inspection.
You agree to periodically inspect the Kit, including the Transmitter alignment, physical mounting, and power supply, and to follow any maintenance recommendations we provide.
6. Use Restrictions
You agree that you will not:
Use the Kit with any lock or device that is not a Compatible Lock.
Use the Kit in any manner that violates applicable law, building or fire codes, or safety regulations.
Tamper with, reverse engineer, disassemble, or modify the Kit beyond what is described in our documentation.
Use the Kit in environments where infrared power transmission is prohibited or restricted by regulation.
Represent the Kit as a product manufactured or endorsed by Schlage, Allegion, or their affiliates.
7. Returns, Refunds & Exchanges
7.1 Return Period.
If you purchased the Kit directly from Wi-Charge, you may return it within 30 days from the date of delivery for a refund, subject to the conditions below.
7.2 Return Conditions.
To be eligible for a refund:
The Kit must be returned with all accessories, components, and documentation.
The Kit must be in good, working condition and not damaged by misuse, improper installation, or accidents.
You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the Kit is found to be defective under our Limited Warranty (see Section 8).
We may refuse a refund or offer a partial refund if the Kit is returned in a damaged or heavily used condition.
7.3 Refunds.
Approved refunds will be processed to your original payment method within a reasonable time after we receive and inspect the returned Kit. Shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless required by law.
7.4 Third-Party Sellers.
If you purchased the Kit from a reseller or other third-party seller, their return and refund policies will apply. Wi-Charge is not responsible for third-party return or refund policies.
8. Limited Warranty
8.1 Limited Warranty.
Wi-Charge warrants to the original purchaser that the Kit will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and installation for 12 months from the date of delivery (the “Warranty Period”).
8.2 Exclusions.
This Limited Warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from:
Improper or non-compliant installation, misuse, or use contrary to our instructions;
Use with locks or devices other than the Compatible Locks;
Accidents, abuse, neglect, liquid damage, fire, or external physical damage;
Unauthorized modifications, repairs, or alterations;
Electrical issues such as power surges, faulty wiring, or environmental conditions outside specified operating limits.
8.3 Remedies.
If a covered defect arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, Wi-Charge will, at its option:
Repair the Kit;
Replace the Kit with a new or refurbished unit; or
Refund the purchase price you paid for the Kit.
These are your exclusive remedies for breach of this Limited Warranty.
8.4 Warranty Claims.
To make a warranty claim, contact:
You may be required to provide proof of purchase and additional information, or to return the Kit for inspection.
8.5 Disclaimer of Other Warranties.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and except for the express Limited Warranty in this Section 8, the Kit is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” and Wi-Charge disclaims all other warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Software, Firmware & Updates
9.1 Updates.
Wi-Charge may provide firmware or software updates, bug fixes, or changes to improve performance, security, or compatibility.
9.2 Mandatory Updates.
Some updates may be required for the Kit to continue functioning properly. You agree to install required updates promptly. Failure to install updates may impact performance, security, and warranty coverage.
9.3 Third-Party Changes.
We are not responsible if changes made by Schlage, your router manufacturer, your ISP, or other third parties affect compatibility or performance of the Kit. We may attempt to provide updates or workarounds, but we do not guarantee continued compatibility with all future products, firmware, or platforms.
10. Third-Party Products & Services
Your use of the Compatible Locks, Wi-Fi networks, smart home platforms, mobile apps, or other third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Wi-Charge is not responsible for, and does not warrant or support, any third-party products or services.
11. Disclaimers
11.1 No Guarantee of Security.
While the Kit is designed to provide continuous power to the Lock, Wi-Charge does not guarantee that the Lock will prevent unauthorized access, that it will be free from tampering, or that your premises will be secure. Physical security depends on many factors beyond our control.
11.2 Regulatory & Code Compliance.
The Kit may not be certified or approved under every building, safety, electrical, or security code in every jurisdiction. You are solely responsible for verifying that installation and use comply with all applicable codes and requirements.
11.3 General Disclaimer.
Except as expressly provided in these Terms and to the maximum extent permitted by law, Wi-Charge disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Kit and your use of it.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
No Indirect Damages. Wi-Charge will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or relating to the Kit or these Terms, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Liability Cap. Wi-Charge’s total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Kit or these Terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, will not exceed the amount you actually paid for the Kit giving rise to the claim.
Consumer Rights. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. These Terms give you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary by jurisdiction.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Wi-Charge and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
Your installation or use of the Kit;
Your violation of these Terms; or
Your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Intellectual Property
The Kit, including all hardware designs, firmware, documentation, branding, and related materials, is owned by Wi-Charge and/or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Wi-Charge grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Kit solely for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.
15. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information in connection with your purchase and use of the Kit is governed by the Wi-Charge Privacy Policy, available at:
By using the Kit or our website, you consent to our collection and use of personal information as described in that policy.
16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
16.1 Governing Law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
16.2 Venue.
You agree that any judicial proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Kit will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
16.3 Informal Resolution.
Before initiating any formal legal action, you agree to first contact us at support@wi-charge.com and provide a brief written description of the dispute. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days. If we cannot resolve it, you may pursue other remedies available to you.
If you plan to use arbitration / class-action waiver, have your lawyer insert a proper arbitration clause here.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Effective Date” above and may provide additional notice (such as by email or a notice on our website).
Your continued use of the Kit after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Wi-Charge regarding the Kit and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements or communications relating to the same subject matter.
